Model-actress and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Lou Yanong welcomed with glee her role in “The Iron Heart” as it offered her the chance to do action routines.

As Rea, the head of security of Dimples Romana’s character Selene, Yanong gets to dabble in action scenes, something she loves to the hilt.

“I am so excited about that. Sobrang saya ako na doon ako napunta. (I am so happy that I got there). I always manifested that role. Ito ang gusto ko. (This is what I want). Gusto ko may baril (I want that there are guns),” Yanong said during our second set visit to the series’ location in Cebu.

Yanong revealed that she tagged along with her dad when he was gun firing which was why she enjoyed immensely the military challenge they once had inside the Big Brother house.

“I enjoyed it because I am boyish. I was nine years old when I tagged along with my dad during his firing sessions,” she said.

“Ang hindi alam ng tao (What people don’t know is that) I am very boyish. What I show online is how I model and how I am so feminine. But they don’t know about me is am very boyish also. Growing up, we are three girls and ang dad ko feeling ko wala siyang lalaki (I feel that he doesn’t have a son). So I stepped out, naawa ako sa dad ko. (I took pity on my dad). I told him, you need company when you do firing. You need someone when you practice it,” she recalled.

With this, she perfectly enjoyed a scene in the series where she had to engage in gun battle to protect Romana’s character.

“It’s empowering,” she said about the scene. I had to protect Selene. So, parang nasa gitna ako, nakikipagbarilan (It was like I was in the middle, gun fighting),” she recalled.

She credits the action team of “The Iron Heart” for the seamless action and fight scenes.

“They are so detailed and they will not stop until it is perfect. And it’s a teamwork really. They will not move on until it’s perfect,” she said.
