Promise fulfilled: Zaijian Jaranilla takes Laurenti Dyogi for a drive in his first car

True to his word, Zaijian Jaranilla took ABS-CBN Head of TV Productions Lauren Dyogi out on a ride in his first car, a promise that the former child star made just a year ago.

Dyogi shared his riding experience on Instagram through a short video on Monday, wherein Jaranilla fetched him from his office and offered to take him for a drive around the block in his brand-new car, which has been with him for just over a year.

“Isang karangalang makisakay sa pinaghirapang sasakyan ng isang mahusay na batang artista (It’s an honor to be riding in the car of a talented young artist). Last year, I was teasing Zaijian who was back then planning to get his own vehicle he could already drive to work. He promised he will let me ride his new car,” said Dyogi in the caption.

“This week, promise fulfilled by him and am very honored and proud to share a ride with Zaijian who is destined to be a very important actor of this generation. Congrats Zaijian @zaijianjaranilla1 for all your blessings in life! Cheers to more great roles and projects for you!” he added.

In the video, Dyogi said he is excited to finally be seeing one of the network’s most promising young actors realizing his dream of having his own car.

“Excited na’ko, matutupad na ang pangako sa akin. Sabi ko ipag-drive nya ko,” the network executive said in the video. “‘Yun ang pangako nya sa akin nung una pa lang na pinaplano pa lang nya kung ano yung sasakyan nya.”

(I’m excited that you are now able to fulfill your promise. I told him that I should be his passenger… That was his promise when he was just planning to buy his first car.)

Dyogi said that he is proud of what Jaranilla was able to achieve at such a young age.

“Ang sarap ng feeling. Saka ano ‘yun, galing sa sakripisyo talaga. Dugo’s pawis ‘yan. Pangako mo ito sa akin, eh. At least natupad na,” he added.

(It’s a great feeling. And it coming from his own sacrifice, really. It’s your blood and sweat. It’s your promise to me. At least it’s now been fulfilled).

Jaranilla, now 21 years old, is best known for his role as the orphan Santino in “May Bukas Pa,” a teleserye in 2009 that was an  adaptation of 1955 Spanish movie Miracle of Marcelino. Later on, he became a cast of the kiddie comedy show “Goin’ Bulilit.” He also played Ding in the recently-concluded “Mars Ravelos’s Darna,” starring Jane De Leon in the title role. EDV
