After showing her fitness journey, Andi Eigenmann sought to debunk the common belief that eating carbohydrate, or “carbs,” is a no-no insofar as achieving a fit physique.

In her recent post on Instagram, the mom-of-three said that not depriving one’s self of the food that they like to eat is still possible while trying to keep their weight down.

Eigenmann said this in answer to questions she had been getting about the food that she is eating to be able to restore her previous weight pre-pregnancy amid her weight-loss journey.

“Here’s a general idea of the food I eat to stay in my current (for the lack of a better term) body type. I eat what I want, without being reckless. I lean towards the healthier options but I still give in to my cravings, even if they are ‘junk,’” she said.

The Siargao-based actress said she’s embarking on a “sustainable” fitness journey, where she reminded her fans that “carbs are not the enemy,” and that she can still give in to her food cravings, as long as they’re done in moderation.

“I’m in the hopes of becoming a certified nutritionist one day, and in everything I have learned so far, a good tip to know what meals to lean towards,” she said. “Eat the rainbow! + CARBS are not the enemy! It’s important that we don’t leave out certain food groups because they all [serve something].”

Eigenmann also revealed that it took two years to lose weight,” and that “making better [food] choices” made her enjoy eating as it helped her to stay on track with her diet.

“I get a lot of comments saying I lost weight SO FAST, but it actually took me [two] years to lose 60 [pounds]! I feel like it seemed like it flew by so quickly because I put a limit and set new goals each time. This way, it didn’t feel like I was doing it forever, resulting in feeling like a failure,” she said.

The “Agua Bendita” star also noted that she’s currently “maintaining” her weight at the moment, saying that she’s making efforts to listen to her body.

“Listening to my body, and not torturing it, is why I don’t end up ‘binge eating all the weight back,’ the most common side effect of DIET TRENDS. My approach on this whole fitness journey is holistic, in such a way that all aspects of my well- being go hand-in-hand,” she said.

Eigenmann then advised her fans that while monitoring their diet is crucial in weight loss, a proper lifestyle is a factor in achieving their dream body.

“So while we now know that ‘losing the weight’ is mostly about food, it will definitely work way more if your entire lifestyle goes with it. Good exercise and a great mindset to go along with it should do the trick,” she said.

The actress has been based in Siargao Island since 2017, where she also got engaged with celebrity surfer Philmar Alipayo. Earlier this month, she revealed in an interview with Carla Humphries that Alipayo is the “perfect” partner since he empowered her to become the best version of herself. EDV
