MANILA, Philippines—Actor Iñaki Torres debuted in a “BL” (boys love) digital series in 2020 and has attracted fans not only here but from different parts of the world as well. Three years later, the Filipino thespian returns to his roots in another romantic series, with not just one, but two love interests.

Joining him to form the trio of lead stars in “Forever Yours” are Eurwin Canzana, who has appeared in the series “Your Home” and “Rainbow Prince” in 2020 and 2021, respectively, and Ely Cellan, who headlined the movie “Pagbigyang Muli” in 2021.

All three of them joined the other actors at the series’ launch during a segment of the “2023 Kickstart” program hosted by Prime Event Productions Philippines (PEPPS) Foundation Inc. held at the Winford Manila Resort and Casino in Manila last Feb. 28.

PEPPS Pres. Carlo Morris Galang, who sits on the directorial chair of the digital series, said he found the timing to be perfect for Torres to be featured in another BL story. Also, the loosening of protocols related to the production of media content will make it easier for his team to mount “Forever Yours” this time, compared with the actor’s first outing.

A totally different Torres will be seen in his new series because he will undergo a “makeunder” for “Forever Yours.” After his breakout portrayal of Ace in the eight-episode online series “My Day,” Torres will trade his trademark beguiling smile with unflattering teeth for his new BL drama.

And aside from having dental braces, he will also wear huge spectacles, will have an underwhelming hairstyle, and his skin will also be made to appear blemished to complete his transformation. “Pinakamahirap po talaga iyong pagsuot ko ng prosthetics sa ngipin, mahirap magsalita (The most difficult part was wearing prosthetics on my teeth, which made it hard to speak),” he shared.

Kristel Galang, one of the supporting cast members, said “Forever Yours” also offers to teach life lessons to its viewers, with HIV/AIDS awareness as one of its main thrusts. She added, “Usually we have two good-looking protagonists, now one is ‘facially challenged.’”

Production for “Forever Yours” has started this month, with the digital series scheduled to stream on the PEPPS TV YouTube channel later this year.  /ra
