Lyca Gairanod says non-showbiz boyfriend messaged her first on Tiktok
Lyca Gairanod opened up about her relationship with non-showbiz boyfriend Kyle Walle began, which started from the latter’s direct message on the video app Tiktok.
The singer revealed at a March 8 episode of the morning show “Magandang Buhay” that while she was the first one to comment on one of Walle’s posts, it was him who messaged her first.
“Paano ba nagsimula ‘yung pag-iibigan niyo, Lyca? Kasi siyempre, kaming mga guardians at mga Ate mo, gustong malaman paano nagsimula?” TV host Melai Cantiveros asked Gairanod. (How did your relationship start, Lyca? Because of course, your guardians and Ates want to know how your romance began.)
“Actually, ito nga po ‘yung nakakatawa. Hindi niya ako kilala as an artist.

Then I saw his post with the quote, “I don’t understand why,” so I commented with a sad face. Then after two days, I wasn’t expecting anything and I kept scrolling — then he sent me a direct message with a “hi.” Then I just replied with a “Yo.”)

“Hindi po, may sinabi po siya na bago siya manligaw [sa akin], gusto niya po akong makita in person at ma-meet ang family ko,” she said. (No. He said that before courting me, he wants to see me in person and meet my family.)
Gairanod also revealed that Walle is her first boyfriend, and they even did long-distance when the latter flew to the United States. The singer, however, did not mention in the interview when her partner had returned to the Philippines.
“Parang first experience lang po sa akin kasi siyempre, first boyfriend ko siya, diba? And nag-promise po ako sa sarili ko na hindi ako [makikipag-relasyon sa isang taong malayo sakin], kasi mahirap. Pero ngayon, natutuwa ako. Hanggang sa paguwi niya, goods kami,” she added.
(It’s my first time to experience something like this since he is my first boyfriend, right? And I used to promise myself that I won’t get into a relationship with someone who is far from me because it’s hard. But now, I’m happy. Even when he returned to the Philippines, we’re good.)
Gairanod first rose to prominence after competing in the first season of the singing competition “The Voice Kids,” where she eventually emerged as the winner.
In 2021, the singer went viral for her reaction to broadcast journalist Karen Davila’s response after the latter discovered that they share the same birthday. EDV
