HORI7ON gearing up for June debut in South Korea — MLD Entertainment CEO

HORI7ON, the boy group formed through the ABS-CBN survival show “Dream Maker”, will be staying in the Philippines until the end of March and will be flying to South Korea for their upcoming debut in June 2023.

Days after the “Dream Maker” finale, MLD Entertainment CEO Lee Hyung-jin revealed the plans for the boy group’s promotional activities during a press conference, as well as what fans can expect.

“We have plans for HORI7ON to actually stay here in the Philippines until the [end] of March, and to do some promotional activities to meet [their Filipino fans]. And so, we also have plans for them to go to South Korea to prepare for their album and begin training, and our preparations are for them to debut by June,” the MLD Entertainment head said, with the help of a translator.

The boy group are also said to be preparing for a reality show for the fans to share a glimpse of their behind-the-scenes activities.

“And we’re also in the stages of preparations for their album and to create a reality show for fans to see who they are,” Hyung-jin said.

Jeromy Batac, Marcus Cabais, Kyler Chua, Vinci Malizon, Reyster Yton, Kim Ng, and Winston Pineda were confirmed to be the members of HORI7ON during the final episode of “Dream Maker” last Sunday, Feb. 12, after amassing millions of votes from fans.

The group name HORI7ON is derived from the seven members who “started on the same line gathering in one place and facing the same goal,” as noted during the press conference.

The boy group will be managed by MLD Entertainment which is the home of K-pop acts Lapillus, TFN, CocaNButter, Narin, and JT&Marcus; and was previously the agency of girl group Momoland who confirmed their disbandment in February 2023.

Additional details about the boy group’s concept and debut album are yet to be revealed, as of this writing.

What awaits the eliminated Dream Chasers?

Since the members of HORI7ON were chosen among 16 finalists, ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Reily Santiago said there have been plans to create a new group with the show’s eliminated contestants, which are also referred to as “Dream Chasers”.

A total of nine contestants were eliminated from the lineup of HORI7ON’s lineup during the show’s finale which consists of Drei Amahan, Prince Encelan, Wilson Budoy, Thad Sune, Jay-R Albino, Matt Cruz, Macky Tuason, Jom Aceron, and Josh Labing-isa.

“Mr. Lee and I are talking about it because all the [Dream Chasers] have proven themselves. There’s a lot of talent, we believe na we can harness those talents and those [Dream Chasers] so we will assess them individually and who knows,” he said. “Tingnan natin (Let’s see) if we can come up with another group… We will study that, keeping our hopes up.” EDV
