John Arcilla, Sylvia Sanchez, Alessandra de Rossi bag PMPC Star Awards top acting honors

John Arcilla, Sylvia Sanchez and Alessandra de Rossi led the rosters of winners in this year’s Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies.

Arcilla was announced as the Movie Actor of the Year for his portrayal in the film “Suarez, the Healing Priest,” during the virtual awarding ceremony held last Sunday, Feb. 12. Meanwhile, De Rossi and Sanchez were both named the Movie Actress of the Year for their respective roles in “Watch List” and “Coming Home.”

Viva Films’ “Untrue” then emerged as the Movie of the Year, while “Tagpuan” by Alternative Vision Cinema was hailed as the Indie Movie of the Year.
