The “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” cast members did not disappoint fans as they earned praises and admiration for the TV series’ pilot episode aired on Monday, Feb. 13.
The cast, led by Coco Martin, watched the pilot episode of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” along with the public in a live viewing event held in Quiapo, Manila.
Martin shared glimpses of the jam-packed event through his Instagram page, showing his co-stars Christopher de Leon, Cherry Pie Picache, Lito Lapid, Pen Medina, Miles Ocampo and Ryza Cenon, among others, in attendance. ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes and Lauren Dyogi were also present at the event.
“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” immediately became a trending Twitter topic in the Philippines as fans lauded the actors, most especially Ocampo, Martin and Cenon, for their effective portrayal of their characters.

Aside from having gained over 36, 000 tweets as of writing, the TV series also had more than 340,000 concurrent views during its Monday airing, as per its production company Dreamscape Entertainment.
“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” which is meant to commemorate Fernando Poe Jr.’s 18th death anniversary, is an ABS-CBN TV series adaptation of the 1986 movie starring “Da King.” The filming of the series started last Jan. 9 during the feast of the Black Nazarene. /ra
