Kapuso actor Carlo Gonzalez and former Unang Hirit anchor Luane Dy exchanged “I dos” during their church wedding last February 8, Wednesday, three years after their civil wedding.
The star-studded affair was a mesh of showbiz and politics, with some of the couples’ celebrity friends mingled with some politician principal sponsors.
The wedding was held at the Shrine of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Church in Pasay City, with the bride wearing a silk creation of Albert Andrada with a deep V at the back. Reception was held at the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Hotel, also in Pasay.
Standing in as the groom’s best man was his cousin Dingdong Dantes, while the bride’s “Unang Hirit” co-anchor Suzi Abrera was one of the bridesmaid, along with Kapuso actresses Mikee Quintos and Rochelle Pangilinan, wife of another Dantes cousin, Arthur Solinap.
“That moment before the main event,” Dantes said in the caption of his Instagram post, which showed a closer look at Gonzalez getting teary-eyed at a church.
Aside from her Unang Hirit Barkada, Dy’s friends from her Eat Bulaga Days were also in attendance — former Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon, who were among the principal sponsors; Ryan Agoncillo and wife Judy Ann Santos, who were cord sponsors.
Speaker Benjamin Martin Romualdez was also one of the principal sponsors, along with several bosses of GMA Network.
Sparkle GMA Artist Center also congratulated the celebrity couple on their special day, as seen on their official Instagram page.
“Love is in the air [heart emoji] Luane Dy and Carlo Gonzalez welcome the love month with a church wedding! Here’s a first look [sparkle emoji],” its caption read.
Gonzalez and Dy first got engaged in 2019 in California, U.S. then eventually got married at a civil ceremony a year later. The couple has one son together whom they welcomed in April 2020.
Other celebrities spotted during the wedding were Marian Rivera, Pauleen Luna, Sanya Lopez, Jak Roberto, Ruru Madrid, and Rocco Nacino. EDV
