Carmina Villarroel confessed that while she is grateful for her two children, twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, she wishes she had another child after them.
The actress said this as she took on the “Who’s Most Likely To” challenge with her husband, actor Zoren Legaspi, for a vlog on Villarroel’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The couple was joined by their daughter Cassy, who asked the questions to her parents.
“Who is most likely to want another child?” Cassy asked Villarroel and Zoren.
“Ako, siguro kasi palagi kong sinasabi ‘di ba na na-overwhelm kami dahil first time parents tapos twins agad, tapos pair pa,” Villarroel answered. “So parang feeling ko, ‘Set na kami. OK na kami.'”
(Me, maybe because—as I have always said—we were overwhelmed at the time, because we were first-time parents, then we had twins, and they were even a pair. So I felt like, “We’re OK, we’re already a set.”)
“Akala ko hindi na sila lalaki, mali ako—lalaki pala,” she continued. “Kung alam ko lang, although mahirap, kung bibigyan pa ako ng isa pang pagkakataon, siguro one more—or two more.”
(I thought they were not going to grow, but I was wrong, they did. If I knew that back then—even if it was hard—if I would be given another chance, maybe I’d have one more [child]—or two more.)
Zoren then asked if Villarroel would have preferred a baby girl or boy, to which she replied, “Kahit anong gusto ni God na ibigay sa akin.” (Whichever God wants to give me.)
Villarroel then clarified that she has no plans of having another child now, but she would definitely have one if she were to go back to when her kids were just 7 years old.
“Pero wala nanamang ano kasi ‘yun na ‘yung binigay ni God. So ano man ‘yung binigay ni God, we’re very thankful. We’re very grateful sa inyo ni Mavy,” she told Cassy. (But I have no [regrets] because that’s what God gave me. Whatever God blessed us with, we’re very thankful [for it]. We’re very grateful for you and Mavy.)
Villarroel and Zoren marked their 10th wedding anniversary in November last year. The couple tied the knot in a surprise wedding in 2012, after being a couple for 12 years.
Mavy and Cassy were born in 2001, and they celebrated their 22nd birthday last month together with their parents as well as Kyline Alcantara and Darren Espanto. /ra
