Rachel Peters could not help but admire her little girl Kaia who braved a medical procedure for a burn she suffered after accidentally spilling hot tea on herself—an incident the beauty queen regarded as a “big learning experience” for her.
Peters gave an account of her 1-year-old daughter’s ordeal which happened while they were on their Japan trip, through Peters’ Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
“Kaika got a pretty nasty burn on her hand from pulling hot tea off a table. A freak accident and a big learning experience for us all,” Peters said. “Such a horrible start to a trip but we’re so thankful for all the nurses and doctors in Japan who were sweet to her everyday.”
Kaia was rushed to the hospital in Japan and stayed for a night in the emergency room with Peters and her husband, politician Migz Villafuerte. The family then immediately returned to the Philippines where Kaia underwent a medical procedure.
“Straight to the hospital after a full on day of traveling! She had to fast before her procedure and woke up from it all at 3 a.m. smiling. Couldn’t be more proud of how brave she’s been through this whole ordeal.”
Peters then assured fans and loved ones that her daughter is now doing OK by showing a snap of the kid smiling as well as a video of them doing the “Ting Ting Tang Tang” dance challenge.
Meanwhile, Peters, who is currently pregnant with her second child, earlier announced that she and Villafuerte are going to have a baby boy. The couple made the sex reveal through an intimate party where they popped a balloon containing blue confetti, as seen in a separate post on Peters’ Instagram page.
Peters and Villafuerte, who tied the knot in a civil ceremony in July 2021, welcomed Kaia in October of the same year. The beauty queen announced her pregnancy with their second child during Villafuerte’s 33rd birthday last month. /ra
