Yllana Aduana crowns lass from Samar as Miss FIT Philippines
MANILA, Philippines — Psychology student Jackelaine Fleming from Calbayog City in Samar captured the Miss FIT (Face, Intelligence, Tone) Philippines title in ceremonies staged at Palazzo Verde in Las Piñas City on Jan. 31.
At the program’s culmination, Fleming bested 27 other aspirants to inherit the title from Yllana Marie Aduana, who was proclaimed 2021 Miss FIT Philippines. No competition was held last year, so the most recent installment is considered the pageant’s 2022 edition.
The 22-year-old Fleming, who is studying at the Fort Lewis College, also received P200,000 in cash. She will now serve as an ambassador for “wholistic wellness” who will promote overall fitness among young Filipino women.
Settling for the first runner-up spot was Aliya Clemena Rohilia from Albay, who received P75,000 worth of cash and other prizes. Second runner-up Juyvel Anne Saluta from the City of Manila received P50,000 worth of cash and other prizes.
Larsine Grace Jensen from Candijay, Bohol, and Arrieanna Zobelle Beron from San Pedro, Laguna, were also proclaimed as runners-up, and will each receive P30,000 worth of cash and other prizes.
The Miss FIT Philippines pageant seeks Filipino women with the most beautiful faces, possess intellectual and emotional intelligence, with toned and healthy bodies. It was first mounted virtually in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pageant veteran Malka Shaver took home the crown that year.
Aduana captured the title in the first physical staging of the Miss FIT Philippines pageant. She competed after her first stint in a national competition, the 2021 Miss Philippines Earth pageant where she was proclaimed a runner-up.
After winning the 2021 Miss FIT Philippines crown, Aduana competed in the 2022 Binibining Pilipinas pageant, where she finished in the Top 12 and received the “Face of Binibini” (Miss Photogenic) title. EDV
