Michelle Yeoh gets interrupted while delivering Golden Globe speech, tells producers: ‘Shut up’

Michelle Yeoh did not let anyone stop her from savoring her first Golden Globe winning moment as she jokingly told the show’s producers to “shut up” when they cued the music to cut her acceptance speech.
The Malaysian actress, who bagged this year’s best actress in musical or comedy award for her portrayal in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” was talking about how the film was “the best gift” that came to her when the exit music played in the background.
A clip of her speech was shown by the award-giving body on its Twitter page on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
“Shut up, please! I can beat you up and that’s serious,” Yeoh quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
Yeoh then continued by extending her gratitude to A24, the production company behind the sci-fi action adventure film, and directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert who “had the courage to write about an ordinary, immigrant, aging woman” which “resonated deeply” with the actress.
The 60-year-old actress also dedicated her win to her producer, manager, co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu, among others, who put their faith in Yeoh.
“This is also for all the shoulders that I stand on, all who came before me, who look like me, and all who are going on this journey with me forward,” she concluded her speech.
