Angela Bassett won this year’s best supporting actress award and bested Filipino actress Dolly de Leon at the Golden Globe Awards held today, Jan. 11 (Jan. 10 in the US) in Beverly Hills, California.

Aside from De Leon, who was nominated for the award for her portrayal in the satirical black comedy film “The Triangle of Sadness,” other actresses who vied for the honor were Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Jamie Lee Curtis (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), and Carey Mulligan (“She Said”).
