‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ actor Kim Seon-ho confirmed to star in upcoming film ‘The Tyrant’

Kim Seon-ho, best known for his performances in “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and “Start-Up,” has been confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming film “The Tyrant.”
Seon-ho’s casting in the film was announced by Korean media outlet My Daily on Monday, Jan. 9; he will be joining fellow actors Cha Seung-won and Kim Kang-woo. “The Tyrant” revolves around a chase among people determined to get the sample of the mysterious “tyrant program” that went missing after a delivery accident.
The “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” actor will take on the role of government agent Choi Guk-jang, a member of a state institution who has been leading a double life as the operator of a tyrant program.
“It’s an honor to be able to greet the audience through the role of Director Choi who has a different charm from characters I have showcased in the past. I’m happy to work once again with director Park Hoon-jung following ‘The Child,’” he said in a statement, per a translation from Soompi.
“The Tyrant” marks the second time that Seon-ho will work with director Park Hoon-jung after the film “The Child.”
Seung-won has been cast in the film as former agent Im Sang, while Kang-woo will take on the role of foreign intelligence officer Paul, according to the report. The film’s release date is yet to be announced as of this writing.
Seon-ho is best known for his roles as Hong Du-sik in “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and Han Ji-pyeong in “Start-Up.” He is set to meet his Filipino fans at a fan meeting on Jan. 22. /ra
