BTS’ Jin might have enlisted in the military last December 2022, but it seems that fans would still see glimpses of his life as an active-duty soldier anytime soon.

Jin promised that he would keep in touch with his dedicated legion of fans — also known as Armys — in a surprise video uploaded on BTS’ official YouTube channel on Monday, Jan. 9.

“Whenever I’m available, I wish to leave these videos and records once every few months to share with you as much as possible, even if it’s just checking in briefly. I may not be by your side at this very moment but I’ll go looking for you soon, so if you just wait a little bit,” he said.

The BTS member also shared that the surprise video was filmed after shooting for an episode of the Korean variety show “Running Man.” It can be recalled that Jin appeared on the show’s Nov. 6, 2022 episode, where he showed off his skills as a variety star.

“I won’t be a civilian anymore by the time this is out, but I’m here in front of the camera because I wanted to leave you something even if it’s just leaving the message. So, I am here with the camera on today,” Jin said. “I’ll be back soon. Next time, when I have the chance, I’ll be back with another video. See you then!”

Jin is the first BTS member to fulfill his mandatory military duties. His label, Big Hit Music, recently prohibited fans from visiting his recruit training graduation ceremony and military base, as well as sending gifts during his enlistment. EDV
