JURIS Umali Soliman has the energy of a bull and the heart of a dove. She celebrated her 60th birthday by spearheading two mass weddings, on June 29, when 20 poor couples were married at Sta. Krus Church in Caloocan City, and on June 30, with 40 couples tying the knot, at the Parish of the Presentation of the Child Jesus in Parañaque.

Juris made sure that all expenses were paid for, including the couples’ wedding clothes, documentation, rings, grocery baskets, etc. Our Lady of Mediatrix visionary, Sr. Teresing Castillo, was present during the ceremonies.

Fr. Rodel, PCJ’s parish priest, was so impressed that he now wants it to be an annual event! While the huge task was physically draining, Juris also found it spiritually uplifting.
