During the holiday season, Pia Wurtzbach finally had her much-needed break from her work commitments which left her feeling “drained” and “burned out.”
The actress-beauty queen reflected on how she was able to recharge after “disconnecting herself from the grind,” through her Instagram page on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
“So grateful that this holiday season gave me the chance to properly SWITCH OFF,” she said. “I made sure I finished all my work commitments before I left Manila so I could focus on the art of doing nothing. And it was great… and much needed.”
Wurtzbach then looked back on her jam-packed schedule after she joined the New York City marathon in November, eventually realizing that not taking time off was a “wrong move.”
“Before this trip, I was getting really burned out [because] I didn’t take a break after the marathon. I kept going as usual and kept filling up spaces in my calendar thinking it was the right decision,” she continued. “‘Laban lang!’ as we’d always say. That turned out to be the wrong move. Naubos ako, kumbaga (I was drained, so to speak). I tend to feel guilty for taking time for myself.”
Wurtzbach recently flew to Scotland where she and her fiancé Jeremy Jauncey marked New Year’s Eve, as well as their third anniversary. EDV
