Grammy award-winning singer Sara Bareilles and “Rise” star Joe Tippett are set to tie the knot after dating for seven years.
The “King of Anything” singer took to her personal Instagram page to share the news on Sunday, Jan. 1. The photo showed Bareilles showing off her gold engagement ring, as she smiled at Tippett.
“Yes to marrying this man. It’s an easy, earned, relaxed YES. @joetipps you are exactly who I want. The more I know you the more I know I love you… and you have introduced me to parts of myself I was afraid to love,” Bareilles said.
Bareilles also thanked her fiancé for being a big help in terms of self-love, saying she’s looking forward to her future with the actor.
“And now I love ME more because of you. So really this is all about me. Just kidding. What a gift you are. Let the games begin. Onward into absolutely everything with you,” she said.
Tippett expressed his excitement over marrying the singer in a separate Instagram post on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
“I’m going to marry this woman. Looking ahead to all of the tomorrows, all the adventures, the laughs, and all of the love. Thank you, my heart,” he wrote in the caption.
Fellow singers Mandy Moore, Josh Groban, and Heather Headley congratulated the couple on their engagement, as seen in the comments of Bareilles’ post.
“Congratulations,” Groban wrote.
“Yessssssss from me!!!! Yes!! I’m so happy for you!! Congratulations!! Forget the baker…you’re now going to be Joe’s WIFE,” Headley gushed.
“Congrats!!! [heart emojis],” Moore said.
The couple first met in August 2015, while trying out for the musical adaptation of “Waitress” at the American Repertory Theater, according to a People report. They started dating in September 2016 and made their first public appearance as a pair in June 2017.
Bareilles is best known for her hit songs “King of Anything” and “Gravity,” and bagged her first Grammy for Best American Roots Performance in 2020. EDV
