Jisoo of Blackpink is set to release her first album as a soloist in 2023, as confirmed by her music label YG Entertainment.
Blackpink’s Jisoo is preparing to make her debut as a solo artist within the year, according to a statement released by YG via Korean media outlet Newsen on Monday, Jan. 2. Details of her solo debut date, album details, and concept are yet to be revealed.
“Jisoo is currently working hard on recording her solo album. While she has been busy with [Blackpink’s] world tour since last year, she finished the album jacket photo shoot and worked on music production whenever she got the time,” YG Entertainment said, according to a translation via Soompi.
Jisoo is the last Blackpink member to release a solo album project after Jennie in November 2018, Rosé in March 2021, and Lisa in September 2021. She debuted as the girl group’s lead vocalist in August 2016.
The Blackpink member also debuted as an actress in the Korean drama “Snowdrop” in December 2021, alongside Jung Hae-in and Yoo In-na. EDV
