Erwan Heussaff has encouraged fellow parents to “be present” for their children, as he spent quality time with his wife Anne Curtis and daughter Dahlia Amélie in Australia.
The content creator shared a glimpse of their family trip in Melbourne, Australia, on his personal Instagram account on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Heussaff also recalled a conversation with Dahlia during the trip, in which she mentioned she was happy because “he’s not working,” as seen in the caption of his post.
“I asked Dahlia the other day if she was happy and she said ‘yes, because you’re not working.’ Be present, folks,” he said.
Fellow celebrities Marc Nelson, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Mariel Rodriguez expressed their support for Heussaff in their comments, as they agreed with his words of wisdom.
“Wisdom out of the mouths of babes,” Nelson said.
“More than Presents..Our Presence. It IS everything,” Rodriguez wrote.
Some netizens also talked about the importance of parents being present for their children, while some others pointed out that not everyone has the “privilege to not to go to work.”
“Kids are among the smartest people on earth. You think they don’t know, or they don’t understand or they don’t remember but they do. These formative years are spent collecting memories in their sponge-like young minds. Make good ones,” a netizen going by the username @salingpusalang said.
“Easy to say for the privileged. Be grateful for what you have. Especially time. Don’t judge others for what they don’t have, too,” one netizen wrote.
“Not quite sure [where these] ‘privileged’ comments come from. When literally the caption says ‘be present.’ It’s about making time for your time. You don’t need to stop working to be present for your family. It was just a simple comment and you all [are stressing] out about it,” another netizen pointed out.
“Hope it is as easy [as everyone] else, ofws, people having multiple jobs, people taking care of other children… #easytosayforthoseprivileged,” Instagram user @danini_seyer said.
Heussaff and Curtis welcomed Dahlia in March 2020 while staying in Australia. The celebrity couple tied the knot in New Zealand in November 2017. /ra
