Opinionated performer’s bark is worse than her bite

/ 12:10 AM December 25, 2022

Feisty Singer Actress (SA) never runs out of things to say about everything. In fact, she’s the type who would rather pick a fight with anybody than lose an argument.

But a show she was a part of truly tested SA’s sass and never-say-die spirit. While SA may be known to be argumentative, her “boldness” is no match for Tough Director’s (TD) “unpredictable” temper, which is sometimes made even worse by his impatience.

Since the show that SA was doing was a touring one, she and her group had to keep adjusting to the size and specifications of different venues. One of TD’s “warnings” was never to touch the curtains or peek through them to check out the crowd.

In one particular city, however, the stage was so small that it was almost impossible for the performers not to touch the curtain as they’re making their entrance. When the Stage Manager (SM) reminded the cast about TD’s warning, SA began complaining about how impossible it was to do what TD wanted.

FEATURED STORIES

“That’s impossible … ! Do you see how narrow the entrance is?” SA snapped at the SM. “If I end up touching the curtain, I will touch the curtain. I don’t care if TD gets mad!” (At the time, TD still wasn’t at the venue.)

After 15 minutes, SM told the cast to get ready for blocking adjustment because TD was already outside the theater.

But when the cast heard TD’s booming voice, saying, “OK … from the top … ,” SA turned to the other members of the cast and said, “O, from the top daw … Careful, don’t touch the curtain!”

Her bark is worse than her bite, indeed.

This week’s top show biz news from the tabloids (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

(Makes sense. After all, a baby’s not like a disposable doll.)

Dingdong Dantes

Dingdong Dantes

(This “yaman” doesn’t get much assistance or protection from the government.)

(Tsk. Looks like somebody’s ignoring Queen Pia’s “reminder.”)

• Payo ni Bb. Pilipinas Hannah Arnold kay Nicole Borromeo: ‘Practice your hair’. (Hmm, does it need to dance and sing? Joke.)

Shaina Magdayao

Shaina Magdayao

(This probably means that it’s time to look elsewhere, Shaina.)

(The good old days were … uh … that good, huh?)

Great answer, Kim! Such maturity.)
