The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has unveiled the Mouawad “Force for Good” crown for the 71st edition of the pageant to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. in January 2023.
The “Force for Good” crown is made of 110 carats of blue sapphires and 48 carats of white diamonds laid out in a rippling wave design to “reflect the need for any call for change,” as described during the pageant’s unveiling livestream on Monday, Dec. 19.
The centerpiece, however, is the 45.14 carat royal blue sapphire that stands at the peak of the crown. According to the MUO, it symbolizes that significant change happens through “sustained effort overtime.”
The “Force for Good” piece, valued at $5.58 million, is the second crown for Miss Universe after the “Power of Unity.” The crown was previously worn by the pageant’s titleholders Zozibini Tunzi (2019), Andrea Meza (2020), and Harnaaz Sandhu (2021).
Celeste Cortesi will represent the Philippines in the upcoming 71st Miss Universe pageant on Jan. 14, 2023. EDV
