MANILA, Philippines — Motorists should avoid the entire stretch of Quezon Avenue — from Welcome Rotonda to the Quezon Memorial Circle — on Wednesday, December 21, which will be closed to traffic due to the Parade of Stars for the incoming 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival, Quezon City Rep. Arjo Atayde reminded the public.

In a statement posted in his Facebook page on Monday, Atayde likewise warned possible convergence of vehicles in the adjacent E. Rodriguez Avenue from D. Tuazon to Welcome Rotonda, as this, like Quezon Ave., would be closed from 3:00 PM til after the parade.

But as early as Tuesday night, Atayde said that E. Rodriguez from Banawe to Welcome Rotonda would already be used as a staging ground for the float, occupying one lane of the westbound side.

Motorists who might need to use these streets should use alternate routes.

“Dahil dito, asahan ang pagbagal ng daloy ng trapiko sa mga lugar at dagsa ng mga manonood.  Pinapayuhan ang mga motorista na dumaan sa mga alternatibong ruta. Ayon sa Quezon City Government.  Maraming salamat po,” Atayde noted.

(Because of this, expect heavy traffic flow in these areas because of the surge in viewers.  Motorists are advised to take alternative routes, according to the Quezon City government.  Thank you very much.)

Last November 24, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the routes for the Parade of Stars, saying that the parade will run for seven kilometers, with an estimated travel time of two hours and 30 minutes.
