Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama bid a heartfelt farewell to DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who passed away at the age of 40.
Obama paid tribute to Boss, who became a prominent fixture of the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in her personal Facebook account on the same day. Obama’s post showed a photo of the American dancer with his wife Allison Holker and children, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.
“I was heartbroken to learn about the passing of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who I got to know over the years through my ‘Let’s Move!’ initiative and visits to ‘The Ellen Show,’ Obama wrote. “Stephen was an incredible force — someone who radiated kindness and positivity, and made sure that people around him could feel it, too.”
The former first lady described Boss as someone whom you can feel the spirit in “every dance, every DJ set, every piece of creativity that he brought to life.”
Obama also assured her supporters going through mental health struggles in her post, saying they’re never alone. “And if any of you out there are struggling and need someone to talk to, please know that you are never alone. There is always someone ready to help,” she said.
Boss was found in an unnamed hotel in the U.S. on Tuesday with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two days later, Holker confirmed his death to multiple media outlets.
The DJ and dancer gained prominence after joining “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2014, and has appeared in the films “Step Up” and “Magic Mike XXL.” EDV
