Ice Seguerra is devastated over the death of his pet dog Choppy, who fell victim to a hit-and-run incident yesterday, Dec. 14.
The singer told fans about his loss while showing moments he shared with Choppy, via his Instagram page yesterday.
“My sweet boy, Choppy, was killed today. He was a victim of a hit and run. I still can’t believe this is happening,” he said. “Durog na durog ako. Choppy ko… akala ko pag-uwi magkasama na tayo ulit. Sobrang sakit, Chop.” (I am so heartbroken. My Choppy… I thought we would be together again when I get home. It really hurts, Chop.)
Fellow celebrities who sent their condolences to Seguerra were Gary Valenciano, Neri Naig, Martin Nievera, and “Drag Race Philippines” queens Precious Paula Nicole and Viñas Deluxe.
“WHAT? OMG (Oh my God) Ice! I’m so sorry about this. Love you Ice,” Valenciano told Seguerra.
“I am so so so sorry. My heart breaks with [yours]. I don’t know what else to say. My thoughts and prayers are with you,” Nievera, meanwhile, said to Seguerra.
Seguerra had a quite heartbreaking 2022 as a fur parent, as Choppy was not the only pet he lost this year. It can be recalled that last January, Seguerra also lost his pet pug Porky, who suffered from an enlarged heart and lung problems earlier that month.
About a month later, the singer was given a new pet dog named Belly by actress and fellow animal lover Sharon Cuneta. Seguerra admitted he was hesitant to get another dog at first because she felt she would be “betraying” Porky, but Cuneta explained that she gave Belly as a way to honor Seguerra’s departed pet. /ra
