Flora Gasser, screen veteran, passes away

Veteran actress Flora Gasser, who appeared in various comedy films, passed away last Saturday, Nov. 19, her family confirmed.

Gasser’s passing was announced by her granddaughter Valerie Ocampo via her Facebook page last Sunday, Nov. 20. The cause of the screen veteran’s death was not disclosed by her family.

“Our Lola (grandmother), Flora Gasser, passed away yesterday and is now with the Lord and with our Lolo Harry,” Ocampo stated while showing a photo of Gasser.

The actress’ remains were taken to St. Peter’s Chapel in Commonwealth, Quezon City. Viewing started last Sunday and ended earlier today, Nov. 22.

Flora Gasser, who was married to the late newscaster Harry Gasser, started her showbiz career in the 1970s.

She appeared in various films including “Annie Batungbakal,” “Batang Z” and “Kumander Bawang,” as well as several TV shows. She made her last acting project through the short film “Nene” in 2020.  /ra
