Catriona Gray says Roberta Tamondong ‘deserved so much better’ at Miss Grand International pageant

Catriona Gray expressed pride over Roberta Tamondong’s performance at the recently-held Miss Grand International pageant, noting that the latter “deserved so much better” in the competition.

The Miss Universe 2018 titleholder said this as she made a comment on a clip of Tamondong during the pageant’s coronation night. The clip was uploaded by Titas of Pageantry, a fan account dedicated to beauty pageants, on its Instagram page on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

“She deserved so much better, performed [so] well. I’m so proud,” she said.

Tamondong then responded and thanked Gray whom she addressed as “ate” (elder sister).

Tamondong finished her Miss Grand International journey as part of the Top 20. Isabella Menin of Brazil was hailed the titleholder at the coronation night held in Indonesia on Oct. 25.

Meanwhile, Tamondong, a veteran of national and international pageants, became the first Filipino woman to have won the Miss Eco Teen International crown in 2020. EDV
