BTS member Jin is officially releasing his solo single later this month, and it is reportedly a collaboration with the British rock band Coldplay.

The possible collaboration between Jin and Coldplay was reported by Ten Asia via Korea JoongAng Daily today, Oct. 18. It stated that the new song was gifted by Coldplay to Jin.

While label BIGHIT Music confirmed that Jin will indeed be releasing a new solo single, the agency did not confirm whether it is a collaboration with Coldplay.

“Jin will release his solo single at the end of October,” the agency said in its statement obtained by MBN via Soompi, also today.

In response to reports of a Coldplay collaboration, the agency asked for the public’s understanding and assured that “the exact details of the date and time, collaboration, and more will be revealed later.”

Jin first hinted at his plans to release solo music at BTS’s World Expo 2030 Busan concert, held last Oct. 15, according to Allkpop, also today.

“I ended up singing something thanks to a fortunate connection with someone I am a fan of,” he teased at the time.

The announcement of Jin’s upcoming single comes as BIGHIT Music confirmed that BTS is set to enlist for mandatory military service, starting with the boy group’s oldest member Jin.

The agency did not disclose specific dates, though it stated the BTS’s other members—RM, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook—will also carry out their military service duties “based on their own individual plans.”

Coldplay is known for their hits “The Scientist,” “Fix You” and “Yellow,” among others. It had also previously collaborated with BTS for the song “My Universe,” which debuted on the No. 1 spot of Rolling Stone’s songs chart in October last year.  /ra
