MANILA, Philippines — Five Filipino men were proclaimed new “kings” at the culmination of the 2022 Misters of Filipinas pageant at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of the Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on Oct. 16, all of them with the responsibility of raising the country’s flag in different international competitions.

James Reggie Vidal from Ormoc City was proclaimed Misters of Filipinas-Man fo the World, while Zach Pracale from Laguna was hailed as Misters of Filipinas Model Worldwide

The Misters of Filipinas Man Hot Star International title went to Jovy Bequillo from Naga City, while the Misters of Filipinas Fitness Model World crown was awarded to Michael Angelo Toledo from Cebu City.

Completing the roster of new kings was Misters of Filipinas Super Globe Marc Raeved Obado from Tuburan, Cebu.

Gerald Fullante from Camarines Sur and Pedro Red from Nueva Ecija were proclaimed first and second runners-up, respectively.

This year’s competition gathered 34 aspirants from all over the country and the Filipino communities in the United State and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Since its inception in 2013, the national male competition has produced several global titleholders who were also the first winners from the Philippines in their respective tilts —2014 Mister International Neil Perez, 2016 Man of the Year Karan Singhdole, 2018 Mister Tourism Universe Ion Perez, 2018 Mister Model Universe Carlo Pasion, 2019 Mister Tourism and Culture Universe Yves Campos, and reigning Runway Model Universe winner Junichi Yabushita.

Except for Bequillo who will compete in the Man Hot Star International contest in Thailand later this year, the rest of the titleholders will be sent to the 2023 edition of their respective competitions.

Prime Event Productions Philippines (PEPPS) Foundation Inc. organizes the annual search. For the ninth edition this year, it has partnered with Ormoc City-based household and personal products marketing company WELLife. EDV
