Joyce Pring speaks up amid backlash on ‘non-believers go to hell’ remark
Joyce Pring stood firm on her Christian beliefs amid mixed reactions over her remark that non-believers of Jesus Christ will “go to hell.”
The TV presenter and podcaster admitted that some people who have been criticizing her are “absolutely right,” in her Instagram post yesterday, Oct. 13. This comes after Pring made comments on salvation during the Oct. 5 episode of her podcast “Adulting with Joyce Pring,” with vlogger Wil Dasovich as guest.
In the podcast, Dasovich asked Pring whether she believes “a non-believer can go to heaven,” to which Pring replied in the negative and said those who do not believe in Jesus will “face judgment, go to hell.”
Some netizens were “bothered” by Pring’s remark, while others said the statement is “self righteous.”
“Sobrang laki ng issue ko (I have a big issue) with those religious self righteous people that’s why I’m so annoyed kay (with) Joyce Pring as in, I have relatives who preach about [Christianity] but their attitude sobrang baliktad sa pini-preach nila (is opposite of what they preach),” one @_sunshinewonho said.

“It’s a common misconception that non-believers don’t ‘believe sh*t.’ I personally believe in humanity, empathy and compassion. In the grandeur of the world. In acts of kindness,” another netizen, @datpopsiclegirl, explained. “All of which are in contrast to what Joyce Pring touts. So yeah, I’m bothered. [Because] it’s wrong.”

One @jerichorayel, meanwhile, said that though Pring is not “really wrong,” she was not “properly trained.” He noted the importance of being “kind in persuasion.”
“Bible preachers don’t just say words like that in public. Even Paul reminded Christians to be kind in persuasion. Pushing them away isn’t an encouragement,” he said.
If we based it to the Bible, Joyce Pring isn’t really wrong. But I can see that she is not properly trained. Bible preachers don’t just say words like that in public. Even Paul reminded Christians to be kind in persuasion. Pushing them away isn’t an encouragement.

For her part, Pring reiterated her religious faith while giving a snippet of the podcast.
“I’ve seen many things said about me in the past 2 days — mean things, horrible names, false stories, etc. So I just want to clear the air here and say this: some of you guys are absolutely right; I’ve been a bad person,” she said.
She stressed that despite her “messiest history,” “bad decisions” and “pretty awful mistakes,” she chooses to believe in Christianity.
“And that’s precisely why I believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ – that salvation comes only through Him; not through our works, or by our own merit,” she stated.

Pring considers her faith as the “greatest gift” she has ever received, as she believes that “true life can only be found through Him.”
“I hope you get the chance to listen to the full episode of the podcast ‘Unpacking Christianity’ with @wil_dasovich,” she added. “Love you guys. And I mean, all of you.” /ra
