Rihanna may have offered a tiny hint on who will be joining her in the Super Bowl 2023 halftime show as she talked about how she feels about the upcoming performance.
The “Diamonds” singer admitted she was nervous but excited about the Super Bowl halftime show when she briefly spoke with TMZ last Tuesday, Oct. 4. Rihanna was coming out of a store in Los Angeles when she was approached by the interviewer.
When asked about who might take the stage with her, Rihanna initially did not state any names. However, the interviewer insisted and asked if Rihanna’s rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky would be joining her for the performance.
“Maybe, girl,” she said while shrugging.
Following the announcement that Rihanna will be headlining the halftime show, a source told Entertainment Tonight yesterday, Oct. 5, that the singer’s performance will be “worth the wait.”
“Rihanna never intended to take this long of a break from performing—it’s just how things turned out. Everything she does is theatrical and creative—all her fashion shows, her book, her makeup, it’s all part of her art,” the source said.
“She no doubt has a lot on her plate right now, but she will give it 1,000 percent. She will ensure every detail is perfect,” the source added.
Rihanna was revealed late last month to perform in Super Bowl 2023 halftime, set to take place on Feb. 12, 2023. The singer then received advice from previous headliner Dr. Dre, who told her she should have the “right people” around her as she gears up for the show.
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna had been friends for many years before they started dating. They then welcomed their first child together last May.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is yet to drop new music since her eighth album “Anti,” released in 2016. /ra
