Ringo Starr has postponed his upcoming shows with his All-Starr band in the United States and Canada, after the 82-year-old musician contracted the novel coronavirus.
Starr’s team announced this while giving fans an update on his health, through the former Beatles drummer’s Instagram page today, Oct. 4.
“It has been confirmed today that Ringo has [COVID-19] and his current All Starr tour will be on hold while he recuperates,” it read. “Ringo hopes to resume as soon as possible and is recovering at home. As always, he and the All Starr send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them back out on the road soon.”
Prior to the announcement, Starr canceled his show in Michigan just a few hours before it was scheduled to begin. His team stated that Starr could not perform because his voice was affected by an undisclosed illness, as per Variety‘s report last Sunday, Oct. 2.
While Starr’s team has yet to provide details on the rescheduled dates, the All Starr show will apparently resume on Oct. 11 based on the tour dates posted on Starr’s website.
