2 overseas Filipino women cop crowns in Mrs. Tourism pageant in Thailand

MANILA, Philippines — Two women from overseas Filipino communities received major titles at the 2022 Mrs. Tourism pageant staged at the Montien Riverside Hotel Bangkok in Thailand on Oct. 2

Jacqueline Jensen Mochinaga from the Filipino community of Japan was crowned Mrs. Tourism-The Queen Mother, while Maria Victoria Landry from the Filipino community in the United States was proclaimed Mrs. Tourism International. Mochinaga was also hailed as “Most Friendly Mother” during the coronation ceremonies.

Meanwhile, host delegate Angkanang Shakira Bumrumsorn received the Mrs. Tourism Universe title, which Filipino queen Hemilyn Escudero-Tamayo won in last year’s virtual edition of the competition. The Thai beauty also received the Best in National Costume award at the finals, and garnered the most votes for the “Darling of the Press” poll in an earlier event.

Kristi Wischnack from the United States was crowned Mrs. Tourism World, and also received the “Mrs. Tourism Goodwill” award. Harshala Yogsh Tamboli from India, who received the “Best Tourism Video” award, was proclaimed Mrs. Tourism Globe, while Coco Blake from San Diego was hailed as Mrs. Tourism Earth.

The representative from the Philippines, Cyren Bales, was proclaimed as Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Arts and Culture. She also received the “Most Photogenic Mother” and “Best in Talent” awards.

Several other ambassadors were crowned alongside Bales — Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Peace Sweet Beconia Lyndoh Tron from East India, Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Education Wasana Lakmali from Sri Lanka, Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Health and Fitness Donna Marie Fields from Jamaica, and Mrs. Tourism Ambassador for Humanity Shiksha Gallow from South Africa.

Maricar Duncan from the Filipino community in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was proclaimed as Mrs. Tourism Charity Queen.

The annual Mrs. Tourism pageant is mounted by Manila-based organizer Megastar Productions. Sunday night’s pageant was its fifth edition. EDV
