Scarlet Snow Belo gave fans a glimpse of her first attempt to eat balut (boiled duck egg embryo), and it appears she liked the Filipino street food.
The child tried balut with help from her father, celebrity doctor Hayden Kho, as seen on her Instagram page today, Sept. 16.
“I tried balut for the first time and…,” she teased.
At first, Scarlet was hesitant to eat the duck embryo, then eventually relented and tried it. After taking a bite, she urged another child, seemingly a playmate, to try the balut as well.
“Yum! You too, you should really try it,” she said.
“See, it’s not yucky,” Kho told his daughter, as he encouraged her to take another bite.
While Scarlet opted not to eat the duck head for her second bite, she was not afraid to look at it when Kho showed it to her.
Scarlet’s mother, doctor to the stars Vicki Belo, also commended the child for trying balut and pointed out that the duck egg is good for her.
“That’s so healthy Scarlet Snow,” Belo said.
Scarlet, born in 2015, is the only child of Belo and Kho, who wed in 2017.
Recently, the child has been showing off her various interests and talents, including 3D drawing, diving, taekwondo and writing. Scarlet finished writing her own non-fiction book earlier this week and noted that she had finished other written pieces in the past. /ra
