Zendaya is now a two-time Emmy-winner at the age of 26 after she won her second best drama actress award at the recently held 74th Emmy Awards.

The American actress, who bagged both awards for her role in the hit drama series “Euphoria,” won her first Emmy in 2020, which made her the youngest Emmy-winning drama lead actress. Her win this year makes her the youngest actress to win two Emmys, and the first Black woman to win the Emmy for lead actress in a drama series twice, as per Variety on Sept. 12.

She also holds the record of being the second Black woman to bag the award, following Viola Davis’ 2015 win for “How To Get Away With Murder.”

Zendaya gave a glimpse of the awards night by reposting photos from fellow celebrities including Lizzo and Quinta Brunson, via Zendaya’s Instagram Stories today, Sept. 14. She then expressed joy as she described her win as a “fairy tale.”

“I’m so overwhelmed with love and gratitude, it’s hard to even process the fairytale that was last night,” she said. “Currently traveling to get back to work but posts coming soon.”

Zendaya also gave credit to the production team of the series, noting how they also deserve as much acknowledgement as she gets, as per her exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight yesterday, Sept. 13 (Sept. 12 in the United States).

“It’s so special [and] it’s such an honor to be acknowledged for something you’re really proud of. It means the world to me,” she stated.

“I’m also so happy for so many of our behind-the-scenes folks getting so much acknowledgement — cinematography and editing,” she added. “They deserve it so much. They put so much into this show.”

Other celebrities who vied for this year’s lead drama actress award were Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”),  Laura Linney (“Ozark”), Melanie Lynskey (“Yellowjackets”), Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) and Reese Witherspoon (“The Morning Show”).  JB
