Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach opened up on the inspiration behind her recently launched luxury rug and carpet line, designed after her favorite cities around the globe.
The beauty queen spoke about the process she went through before completing the collection via her Instagram page yesterday, Sept. 13. Wurtzbach’s rug and carpet line, launched last Sunday, Sept. 11, was made in collaboration with the luxury brand Studio Soliven.
“Thinking of designs for my bespoke rugs was no easy feat. I can be a bit indecisive so having to interpret what was in my head into designs that will be distinct and fitting for various tastes [and] home styles, then narrowing them all down into one collection was challenging!” she admitted.
Despite this, Wurtzbach believes the process was “worth it” as they “nailed our concept without being too literal about it.”
“I feel like we were able to weave a lot of travel memories into these rugs. Then there were 13… and here they are now,” she said.
“I imagined all my favorite cities I’ve visited for this collection with @studiosoliven, namely—Dubai, Hong Kong, Marrakech, Las Vegas, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Zurich, Sao Paolo, [of] course Cebu and last but not the least Manila,” Wurtzbach added.
The rug and carpet line is not the only venture that Wurtzbach has been keeping herself busy with recently. She also launched a travel-inspired food business last March. /ra
