MANILA, Philippines – It’s September again in the Philippines, which can only mean one thing —  it is likewise the is Jose Mari Chan’s Chrisitmas melodies season!

Netizens stormed social media platforms with the local Christmas icon memes, with some using hilarious  GIFs pertaining to Chan to welcome the season.

While most of the world marks the Christmases ibn December, Filipinos are known to start celebrating Christmas in September, the start of the so-called “ber” months.

The Filipino Christmas season is not complete without the iconic melodies of the well-loved Chan.

With hits such as “Christmas in our hearts” and “A perfect Christmas,” it is no wonder that Chan and Filipino Christmases are inseparable.

Some netizens made light fun of Filipinos’ eagerness to celebrate Christmas, with Tweets as early as August featuring Chan sneaking around the corner.

One Twitter user posted a meme of Chan as the fictional character “John Wick”, taking the chance to warn other netizens of possible cases of theft during the holiday season. 

I don’t know who’s behind all those memes, but I feel complimented that they’re using me, so it has further increased my popularity in that sense,” he said in a past interview with INQUIRER.net.
