‘The Clash’ alum Garrett Bolden joins cast of ‘Miss Saigon’ in Guam
“The Clash” alum Garrett Bolden has been cast to play John Thomas in a stage musical production, “Miss Saigon,” to be held in Guam.
The singer announced this while showing a poster for the said play on his Instagram page last Sunday, July 24.
“I can’t be more excited to share sa inyong lahat (to all of you). I prayed hard for this, Lord maraming salamat (thank you very much). I will be joining the cast of Miss Saigon in Guam,” he told fans. “It’s always been a dream of mine to venture into [theater] and I know that joining Miss Saigon is one for the books.”
Bolden expressed gratitude to fans for their support, adding that trying out new things for his career would help him grow and learn as a singer.
“Lahat ng ito ay para sa inyo (This is all for you). I’ll be back soon, but until then, please pray for me,” he said. “Kasama ko kayo sa journey na ito (You are with me in this journey).”

Meanwhile, the GMA variety show “All-Out Sundays” congratulated Bolden via Twitter, also last Sunday. It wished him well as he is set to leave the program in August to start training and rehearsals.
It showed Bolden narrating his experience in auditioning for the stage musical. Bolden noted that when he met producers of the play, he was told that he fit an “important role” in the production since the start of his audition.
He compared the process of his “Miss Saigon” audition to the one he went through when he entered GMA’s reality singing competition “The Clash.”
“‘Yung pag-submit ko pa ng video, feeling ko parang nag-audition ako ulit sa ‘The Clash’ kasi hindi ako ma-satisfy doon sa ipapasa kong video, tapos eventually, after a few weeks… nakatanggap ako ng e-mail na na-shortlist ako. Eventually, I got interviewed,” he recalled.

Congratulations and good luck on your musical journey, Garrett Bolden! The cast of Miss Saigon is lucky to have you as their John Thomas! 💖✨

Bolden is one of the finalists in the first-ever season of “The Clash.” Golden Cañedo was named the grand champion during his time in the contest.
He has since released songs such as “Our Love,” “Lilipad Na” and “Pwede Pa Ba” under GMA Music. /ra
