Paul Soriano tapped to direct Marcos’ first SONA
Paul Soriano was appointed to be the director of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA), which will be held on Monday, July 25.
Soriano, who is the nephew of Marcos’ wife Liza Araneta-Marcos, confirmed his role in the upcoming event, as reported by Mario Dumaual of ABS-CBN yesterday, July 19.
“I am grateful and honored for this rare opportunity. Anytime the President needs me, I will deliver and do my best,” the filmmaker was quoted as saying.
Soriano will reportedly rehearse on July 24 with Marcos, whose speech will be “concise, clear and direct to the point,” according to the director.
“The real challenge is for the public to hear him well,” Soriano added. “After all, this is a two-way process where listening skills [are] important to hear his message.”
