Never-heard-before trivia about Team Jolly’s Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay

Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay of Team Jolly are one of the most popular young love teams now in the entire local entertainment industry, and not only on GMA Network. After getting to do an exclusive interview with both of them, I understand now, more than ever, why they have become so beloved by millions, and not only by their fans, who have been with them every step of the way going back three years ago. It is because of their childlike innocence, authenticity and wholesomeness. Those said laudable qualities are rarely gleaned on the many social media platforms available to all. Happily, with Team Jolly, Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, we have shining exemplary role models for the youth.
Indeed, they make no qualms about it. They are together, a real-life couple. And the good part about it is that they are perfect for each other. They bring out the best in each other. Their millions of fans worldwide, and viewers at home, can see that. Perhaps, for the first time ever, they have shown how close they are to each other based on the answers they have given to my questions.
Now, finally, there has been a comprehensive and detailed interview with both of them and here in my exclusive interview with Team Jolly, their fans and followers will learn new and never-heard-before trivia they reveal about themselves.

What little present from each other do you hold most precious in your heart? What is the significance or meaning of that gift for you?
Sofia Pablo: My favorite gift Allen has given me is the digital video player… Before, I would always tell him how much I liked that video player and share with him my plans to get one for myself when I had compiled enough of our videos, TikTok and pictures. So, I was so surprised when he gave that to me for Christmas last year. So far, that is my favorite gift Allen has given me that I truly treasure.
Allen Ansay: There is a lot of them. But for me, the best that Sofia has given is the Polaroid camera. It’s always at the back of my cellphone. I store our images there on my cellphone, on my wallpaper. When I have tapings and sometimes when I get nervous, and since Sofie is always on my mind, I just look at my wallpaper and when I see our pictures, I begin to feel Sofie is right beside me.
For you, what is the other’s most endearing quality that in your eyes makes him/her uniquely the person he/she is?
Sofia Pablo: Allen possesses so many good qualities. He loves his family. He also loves my family, including my sister, Bella. He loves my mom. He even loves our dogs. He’s funny, too. So when you are with someone all day who’s funny, your day will be happy as well. However, it is given [that] all of us love our families. So I would say that Allen’s quality that really stands out is he does not look at other girls. In the almost three years I have known him, not once have I seen him look at other girls. That is indeed very rare. Because I have some male friends who even point out to me girls they notice and can’t resist saying, “Wow, that girl is so pretty, Sofia!” So, Allen is so different from them.
Allen Ansay: For me, aside from the fact that she really loves her dogs, her mom, and her family, I love her simplicity. What you see of her on TV, the different characters she plays, that’s not Sofia. Sofia is so different from them and you will only know the real Sofia when you are with her. She’s just a normal girl. She doesn’t like putting on makeup. She’s just in joggers. She’s very simple. That’s what I really like about her. And I recall something now. Aside from her simplicity, my mom was so surprised to see that she can also eat with her hands. That was the time when Sofia visited us in Bicol, and my mom had happily [told] her, “Oh, you also know how to eat food with your hands.”
What is Allen’s/Sofia’s most “enduring” quality that, were he/she is not your special someone, you would quickly drop him/her like a hot potato, and just forget all about him/her?
Sofia Pablo: I don’t really see any negative quality about Allen. But what I can say is that I do not like or tolerate any boy who talks back to his mother. That is a big no, for me.
Allen Ansay: There is nothing negative I can say about Sofia. However, I have observed that when Sofie is taping, she is the type who is so focused on her work no matter how late the hour is and even if she has not had a break yet to eat. She does not think of herself, or if she might faint already due to hunger. She is more concerned about the set and not wasting time. I don’t like it when she forgets that she has to take care also of her health always. As actors, we always have to be healthy. We cannot be unmindful of ourselves by not taking breaks to eat for our sustenance.
Growing up, who was your favorite fairy tale character you dreamed you could be?
Sofia Pablo: Growing up, my favorite fairy tale character was really Ariel in “The Little Mermaid.” Since I was a little girl, it was my dream to be a mermaid. So when I got the role of Raya Sirena, it was such an exhilarating feeling because I fulfilled my dream of becoming a mermaid. So that is such a big accomplishment in my life that I will never forget because I became a mermaid on Philippine television.
Growing up, who was your favorite superhero you dreamed you could be?
Allen Ansay: I always say I would like to be Robin Hood, the one that was played by Dingdong Dantes on Philippine television. I was not yet an actor then, but I was already watching that. I found it so cool. So cool. I always dreamed of doing action roles like a local Robin Hood that the Filipino people will watch.
What stuff do you collect now as a hobby or as a passion?
Sofia Pablo: What I have always been collecting ever since I was a child, and up till now, are sea shells. I have never lost my interest and love for sea shells. Wherever beach we go, I always gather sea shells. I don’t just grab as much as I can. Just a couple or three, so that I will not deplete their abundance… And when I see some in malls that are different and unique, I really buy them. I even have a huge sea shell in my collection. And by the way, I want to share something, and this is factual. All the sea shells that were shown in my room for my TV series, “Raya Sirena,” are all my personal sea shell collections. All of those! Except for one shell, called the “Diwa” in the show, the one that would light up. That [belonged to our director] Crisanto B. Aquino. But otherwise, all of those sea shells shown in that TV series, are all mine. All of them. And Allen and I would carry them all to the tapings, each time.
Allen Ansay: For now, I am not really into collecting stuff, although I have my collection of basketballs. When Sofia and I went to the Toy Convention, that was the first time I got to go there, I was so amazed to see giant toys, such beautiful toys. So now, I have begun to think I would like to start collecting toys. Soon. Sofie’s dad gave me a “Dragonball Z” toy. The “Dragon Ball Z” toys are amazing. I hope that I will be able to collect them all.
