Charo Santos has joined the cast of the long-running action series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” as her appearance was teased yesterday, June 16.
This was confirmed at the end of yesterday’s show that featured a teaser for its episode today, June 17. In the teaser, Santos’ character appears to provide shelter to the series’ fictional counter-terrorist group Task Force Agila, as well as Rowell Santiago’s character President Oscar Hidalgo.
Further details about Santos’ role in the series are yet to be revealed as of this writing, though her character was described as “isang [babaeng] magsisilbing liwanag sa kanilang madilim na daan (a woman who will serve as a light in their dark path).”
For her part, Santos posted another teaser video on her Instagram page today showing her character, Ramona, who talks about helping Coco Martin’s Cardo Dalisay and “Agila,” seemingly referring to Task Force Agila.
“Hindi na dapat maulit ang madugong kasaysayan na nangyari noon. Kinakailangan na naming kumilos. Kinakailangan na naming tulungan si Cardo at ang Agila,” she said as the character. (The bloody history that happened then must not be repeated. We need to act. We need to help Cardo and the Eagle.)
“Makikilala niyo na si Ramona mamaya sa ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,'” Santos added. (You are about to meet Ramona later on “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”)
Santos earlier expressed interest in being part of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in an interview with CinemaOne’s “Cinema News” back in 2019.
“Cardo, nag-aantay pa rin ako… Oo, basta ang cut-off ay hindi two in the morning. Alam mo na, senior citizen na,” she joked at the time. “Mag-a-action? Aba, kung kaya naman, why not?”
(Cardo, I am still waiting… Yes, as long as the cutoff is not two in the morning. You know, I am a senior citizen now. Doing action? If it is possible, why not?) /ra
