Tracy Maureen Perez reminisces on helping single mothers in Miss World PH reign
Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez looked back at her journey in the beauty pageant, from celebrating her late mother to representing the struggle of single moms through her Beauty with a Purpose project.
The beauty queen recalled the “most stressful yet the most fulfilling moments” she had in Miss World Philippines while showing her final-walk look, a strapless gown by Harvey Cenit, on her Instagram page last Tuesday, June 14.
“Reminiscing my final walk as Miss World Philippines 2021 — I couldn’t really feel anything else but pure gratitude first of all to the Lord above for granting me my dream of representing our country, of celebrating my Mommy Chona’s life, of representing the struggles of the single moms like her and those of their families, and lastly of leaving my own little mark in ways that I never imagined would be possible,” she said.
Perez also expressed gratitude to those who supported her throughout her Miss World Philippines journey, especially her family and friends.
“I wouldn’t have achieved this milestone if not for you guys. I owe it all to you. I love you all,” she told them.

Perez finished in the top 13 when she competed for the Miss World crown last March. She was also among the winners in Miss World’s Beauty with a Purpose challenge.
Her project “Para kay Nanay” was inspired by her late mother Chona, who passed away more than a decade ago. The project helped provide single parents with health and wellness activities, as well as livelihood training.
Perez took her final walk as Miss World Philippines and crowned her successor, Gwendolyne Fourniol of Negros Occidental, in the local pageant’s finals night last June 6. /ra
