Philippines finally bags Miss Global crown through Shane Quintana Tormes
MANILA — The Philippines finally scored its first Miss Global victory when Shane Quintana Tormes captured the crown in the contest’s ninth edition held in Bali, Indonesia, on June 11.
Tormes is a veteran of local and national beauty pageants, honed by the Kagandahang Flores beauty camp.
She has participated in the Bb. Pilipinas pageant, and joined the 2020 Miss Philippines Earth pageant where she was crowned Miss Philippines-Fire.
In the 2022 Miss Global pageant, Tormes also earned the Miss Talent award.
The court of runners-up include Sandra Lim of Malaysia, Brooke Rankin of Australia, Sandra Boris of Lithuania, and Natalia Gurgel of Brazil.
Article continues after this advertisementNo competitions were held in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the pageant crowned a 2021 winner along with Tormes as the 2022 queen.

The Miss Global pageant accepts single mothers and aspirants up to 35 years old, to expand the scope of those who can qualify for an international beauty title.
Before Tormes, the Philippines’ highest placement was CJ Hirro’s first runner-up finish in 2016 in the pageant held here.
Tormes was appointed to represent the Philippines by the national franchise holders after deciding to forego a national search. JB
