Celebrity makeup artist James Cooper, who passed away at the age of 73, was honored by Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and her niece, actress Meryll Soriano.
Cooper reportedly lost consciousness while preparing for a Santacruzan in Laguna, also yesterday. The family is yet to give further information on the wake, as of writing.
Maricel, who worked with Cooper for years, expressed her love for the makeup artist while showing a compilation video of their photos together, via her Instagram page yesterday, May 29.
“Thank you for the many years of love and friendship, and treating me like your own daughter. You have been a big part of who I am today and I am forever grateful,” she said. “I love you my Mother Goose. Till we meet again.”
Meryll, for her part, remembered Cooper for his kindness and generosity, as per her Instagram page, also yesterday.
“Thank you so much for the light you’ve shared with me. I have amazing memories with you,” she stated. “You will always, always have a special place in my heart. I love you so much.”
Cooper also worked with several Hollywood celebrities including American actress Farrah Fawcett in the 1980s. He was the first Filipino to introduce airbrush makeup in the Philippines. JB
