Julia Montes paid tribute to the “Queen of Philippine Movies” Susan Roces by showing some of the handwritten letters she received from the veteran actress.

Montes recounted the memories she has of Roces and said that those will forever be with her, as per Montes’ Instagram page yesterday, May 21.

(I will never forget all your stories and advice on life and relationships, along with your beautiful memories with FPJ which you shared as lessons — all the stories that I did not expect I would be given the chance to know.)

The “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” actress also spoke about a gift and a request from Roces which Montes vowed to never forget.

(One of the things that I will also not forget is when you always say that you remember me whenever your rambutan tree starts to bear fruit. There was also a time when you gave me a CD with the song “The Greatest Love All,” telling me not to forget that song. Now, I will surely not forget it.)

(Do not worry, all the lessons you taught me will always be in my heart and will continuously be done. Thank you for the happy memories and beautiful lessons. We love you so much. Until we meet again!)

Aside from being stars of  “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” Montes and Roces appeared together in the 2012 TV series “Walang Hanggan” and “Muling Buksan ang Puso” in 2013.

Roces passed away on Friday, May 20, at the age of 80. She was honored by fellow celebrities Vilma Santos, Maricel Soriano and the “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” cast, among others. Roces’ wake will be open to the public today, May 22, until Tuesday, May 24, at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City. JB
