Coleen Garcia is mourning the death of her sphynx cat Anya, her son Amari’s favorite pet.
The actress made a compilation video of Anya and Amari’s bonding moments, as seen on her Instagram page yesterday, May 9. She spoke about the heavy feeling she felt in the morning, foreseeing that it was going to be a “dark day” for them.
“Today, we lost our dearest Anya. Most of you who truly know us know how much she meant to us, and how much we loved her,” she said. “Those who had the chance to meet her also knew how amazingly pleasant, loving, and affectionate she was.”
Garcia remembered Anya as a “uniquely beautiful” pet and described her as the “most malambing (tender) cat ever.”
“Her presence was something else. She was a stunning yet intimidating-looking cat, but she was always so friendly to everyone,” she stated.
Garcia then talked about how she is happy that her son got to meet her cat, which is her husband Billy Crawford’s gift to her in 2015 for their first anniversary as a couple. She added that remembering the bond Amari had with Anya is what “breaks her heart the most.”
“I know that he doesn’t really know what’s going on. Time will pass and he might not even remember her one day, but I will always treasure those little moments that made us all smile,” she said.
“She’s unforgettable and irreplaceable. Truly one of a kind. Our home will never be the same without her,” Garcia added.
Fellow celebrities who comforted Garcia include Alex Gonzaga, Diego Loyzaga, Luis Manzano and Aubrey Miles, who also recently lost her 14-year-old pet dog. JB
