Derek Ramsay is grateful to have reconnected with a former schoolmate he had saved from attackers back when he was studying in England.
The actor showed his conversation with his schoolmate Chuck Waite, on his Instagram page yesterday, April 19. They met at Cheltenham College, a day and boarding school in Cotswolds, England.
According to Waite, he was being assaulted by about eight to 10 people with hockey sticks when Ramsay came to his rescue. He thanked Ramsay for standing up against his attackers.
“Hey Derek, not sure if you remember me from Cheltenham College but we were in the same house, Boyne,” Waite told Ramsay. “You helped me out a lot and stood up for me when I got attacked by [eight to 10] people with hockey sticks in the courtyard. Long time ago of course, but sending thanks all the same.”
Waite also recalled how Ramsay had been kind toward him at a time when he felt he was “small and afraid.”
“It has stuck with me all these years. And now I’m a dad I respect it even more. Have an awesome day and chat soon!” he added.
Meanwhile, Ramsay expressed happiness over Waite reaching out and reconnecting with him.
“This made my day. Great to reconnect with you @chuckwaite and glad to hear you are doing well,” he said.
Ramsay’s wife, actress Ellen Adarna, appeared to be amused by the actor’s kind act and jokingly called him “my pitbull.”
Ramsay was also commended by singer Ogie Alcasid and news anchor Cheryl Cosim, who called him a “good soul.” /ra
