Arci Muñoz could not help but feel giddy over finally meeting her “Papa Mochi,” TV host-comedian James Corden, while on a trip to Nevada.
The actress gushed over her encounter with Corden at what appears to be a restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada, as seen on her Instagram page yesterday, March 25.
Muñoz referred to Corden as “Papa Mochi,” a nickname that the Korean boy group BTS called the host in their various appearances in “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
“Nameet ko na si papa ko (I got to meet my father), Papa Mochi. I am your son’s wife, Baby Mochi’s wife,” she said. Muñoz was referring to BTS member Jimin who is sometimes referred to as “Baby Mochi” by BTS fans, the ARMY.
Corden was under fire last year after he made a joke on his talk show describing the fans of BTS as “15-year-old girls,” a remark that ARMY considered “ageist” and that led them to demand that Corden remove “Papa Mochi” from his Twitter bio at the time.
The TV host said on his talk show last November 2021 that he thought the age-related joke was “wrong” and that BTS assured him that he could still be called “Papa Mochi.”
Earlier this month, BTS returned to Seoul to play for their Korean fans for the first time since 2019. They were also named Artist of the Year in the American Music Awards in November last year.
Meanwhile, Muñoz has been keeping herself busy by walking the runways at recent fashion events such as the Los Angeles Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. /ra
