Miss Philippines Tracy Maureen Perez continues her journey to win the crown in the 70th Miss World pageant held today, March 17 in Puerto Rico.
Perez took her spot in the top 13 after gracing the stage in her royal blue deep-v dress and black high-slit mid dress.
The twelve others who made the top 13 are: Vietnam, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Poland, Somalia, United States, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, India, Indonesia and Cote d’Ivoire. Originally, only a top 12 was set to be announced, but a tie was revealed, hence the entry of the 13th candidate, Cote d’Ivoire.
The Cebuana beauty queen was earlier named as one of the frontrunners by international beauty pageant platforms. She is hoping to take home the second Miss World crown for the country, following Miss World 2013 Megan Young.
Perez competed with 96 other delegates for the Miss World crown, but due to health and safety considerations, only the top 40 candidates were required to participate in the coronation night. JB
